The Biological and the Ornamental

The Biological and the Ornamental

The biological and the ornamental have a strong visual analogy and a sensual analogy. Interlace, threads, veins, knots, entwined bodies, tendrils, filaments, webs, fibres, networks, synapses. Ornament is haptic and tactile. For me, seeing ornamental forms, patterns, lines, textures, is more akin to feeling, touching, and experiencing deep body sensation and synaesthesic affect. When I hear music or sound I experience the feeling of substances and textures, and I see patterns and forms.
